Myth or Math?

Twelve market beliefs, counted

Do not believe me. Check the table.

Selected findings from the forthcoming book Kaalchakra — Proof, Not Prophecy

Astrologer · Researcher of cycles · Author · 30 years of hand-kept records · Complimentary — educational research, not investment advice

I set out to prove a monk wrong

Thirty years ago a monk looked at a yantra, named a level and a date, and told me where the market would stand on Mahavir Jayanti. I did not believe him. I did something better — I wrote it down and watched. He was right, and I have spent the three decades since refusing to take that on faith.

In the newspaper era I recorded prices by hand, a day late, because there were no charts. Later there were screens, and then there was enough data to finally do the honest thing: take the tradition’s boldest claims about the market and count them. Eight Indian markets. Every eclipse, every retrograde, every festival, every ingress on record. And one merciless rule applied to every single study — could a set of random, meaningless dates have produced the same result?

Most of the famous beliefs did not survive that question. A handful of honest cycles did. That is the whole book, and this is your first look at it.

How to use this self-check

Below are twelve beliefs you have almost certainly heard — in a dealing room, at a family dinner, or from a television astrologer. Tick every one you have believed, or half-believed, or heard often enough that it felt true. Then read the verdict beneath it.

Some verdicts are given in full here. Others are marked “counted — answered in the book,” because a finding without its table is just another opinion, and this project does not deal in opinions.

Twelve beliefs — how many have you held?

Your score — and why it does not embarrass you

Count your ticks. Whatever the number, you are in good company: most of these beliefs are held by intelligent, experienced market participants, and several were held by me for years before the ledger corrected me.

0of 12

  • 0–3 ticksYou are a sceptic. This book was written to be checked by you — methods, sample sizes and failures are all printed.
  • 4–8 ticksYou have heard the folklore and wondered. That wondering is exactly where this research began.
  • 9 or moreYou are the reader this book will argue with most — and the one it respects most, because you took the tradition seriously enough to believe it. So did I. Then I counted.

The point of this page is not that belief is foolish. It is that belief is testable — and that in thirty years, almost nobody bothered to test it.

What the full book contains

Kaalchakra — Proof, Not Prophecy

Kaalchakra — Proof, Not Prophecy is a history book, not a forecast book. Inside: thirty years of records across eight Indian markets; every study printed with its table, its sample size and its failures; the placebo guard that killed eight of my own “discoveries” before they reached print; the findings-at-a-glance leaderboard that opens and closes the volume; the story of the monk, the yantra and the thirty years that followed; and a closing framework for using timing research without ever receiving a tip.

Not one page of it looks forward. Every table describes the documented past.

Where the research continues

The book is released shortly. Thirty years of data, and zero tips — that is the whole of the offer, and it is not going to change.

  • To be told when it is out, and to follow the cycle research as it is published, ask and you will be added to the list.
