Commercial Vastu

For corporate floors, showrooms, clinics, factories, multi-site organisations, and properties under consideration for purchase. Scoped after a brief and phased around your operations.

In short: A five-stage engagement: brief, site study, report, implementation support and review. The report is written in practical language — entrances, circulation, seating, storage and light — so it can be handed to a facilities manager or an architect and acted on directly.

The work

What this covers

Practical language, not interpretation

The report talks about entrances, circulation, seating, storage and light. It can be handed to a facilities manager, an architect or a contractor and acted on without anyone needing to interpret it.

Phased around operations

Work is sequenced so production, trading hours or patient hours are not interrupted. Shutdown windows and annual maintenance periods are the obvious slots and I plan for them.

Before you buy

A property under consideration can be read before the decision, which is a far cheaper point to find a problem than after possession.

Confidential by default

No client name, logo, photograph or site detail is used anywhere without written permission. A confidentiality undertaking is signed on request as a matter of course.

What to bring

  • Floor plans or site drawings, and the site address
  • What prompted the enquiry, stated plainly
  • Operating constraints — shift patterns, trading hours, shutdown windows
  • Whether this is an existing site, a fit-out, or a property under consideration

What you get

  • A scoped brief before any commitment
  • A site study with directions and measurements taken on site
  • A written report in language a contractor can act on
  • Implementation support and a review after the changes

Said plainly

What this cannot do

A commercial assessment describes the space and what can be changed about it, phased so it does not disrupt the business. It does not guarantee a commercial outcome, and no reputable practitioner would tell you otherwise. Where a problem is operational rather than spatial, I will say so — it is a more useful answer than a correction that was never going to help.

Before you ask

Common questions

How is a corporate engagement different from a home visit?

Scope and sequencing, mainly. Multiple stakeholders, a report written for people who will not be in the room, and work phased around operations rather than around a weekend.

Can you work across multiple sites?

Yes — multi-site organisations are a substantial part of this work, and there is real value in one consistent standard applied across all of them.

Will our name be used in your marketing?

Not without written permission. That is the default position and it is not negotiable in the other direction.
