In short: The chart is read for how this particular young person learns and works — the fourth, fifth and ninth houses, the condition of Mercury and Jupiter, and the period covering the next several years. It is offered as one input to a family decision, deliberately not as a verdict.

The fourth for schooling and the ground beneath it, the fifth for intelligence and what a person is drawn to, the ninth for higher study. Read together rather than as separate verdicts.
Which period covers the examinations and the first years of a course. A demanding stretch is worth knowing about in advance, because it changes how much load you plan for.
Where the young person is present I address them directly. A consultation conducted over somebody’s head is not much use to them, and they are the one who has to do the work.
Said plainly
A chart cannot name a course, predict an examination result, or tell you whether a seat will be offered. It cannot substitute for aptitude testing, for teachers who know the student, or for the student’s own sense of what they can bear. What it can honestly offer is a description of temperament and timing, treated as one input among several. Anyone who hands a sixteen-year-old a career verdict from a chart is doing something I would not defend.
Before you ask
Not if it is framed properly. What makes it inappropriate is presenting it as a verdict, which forecloses a decision the young person should be making. Framed as a description of how they work, it is usually well received — including by the student.
I say so, to both. That is uncomfortable and it is the main reason the consultation is worth having. I will not tell a family what they came to hear.
No, and I would be careful of anyone who says they can. What I can describe is whether the period ahead is supportive and how the young person is built to work. The examination still has to be sat.
