One question, framed properly
Half the work is in the framing. A question that can be answered has a subject, a timeframe and a definite meaning of success. Part of the consultation is arriving at that together before anything is cast.
In short: You bring one clear question. A chart is cast for the moment it reaches me, and read for that question alone — what the situation actually is, which way it is moving, and what the chart declines to settle.
The work
Half the work is in the framing. A question that can be answered has a subject, a timeframe and a definite meaning of success. Part of the consultation is arriving at that together before anything is cast.
Prashna uses the ascendant and the significators at the time of asking. It is a complete method in its own right, not a substitute used when the birth chart is missing.
A great many people simply do not have one. Rather than give you a confident reading built on a guessed time, this answers the question you actually came with.
Prashna is comparatively willing to say that a matter is not moving. That is uncomfortable and it is the most useful thing it does.
Said plainly
Prashna answers one question at a time, and it answers it as a reading rather than as a certainty. It cannot locate a person, decide a legal case, diagnose an illness or forecast a market — and I do not offer it for any of those. A question about somebody else’s private intentions is also outside what I will do. It works best on a matter that is genuinely undecided and genuinely yours.
Before you ask
One at a time, and usually one per consultation. The method depends on the chart of the moment belonging to a single question. Asking six of them at once produces six readings of the same chart, which is how prashna is most often abused.
It is designed to. The birth chart and the prashna chart are two different instruments answering two different kinds of question. If you do have birth details I will look at both, but the method does not depend on it.
Matters that are pending and specific: whether a stalled thing is likely to move, whether to proceed with something now or wait, whether a difficulty is nearing its end. It is poor at open-ended questions about a whole life, which is what a full reading is for.
