Remedies & Gemstones

The most commonly asked question in this field and the one most often answered badly. A gemstone is prescribed from a chart, for a specific planet, for a specific reason — or it should not be prescribed at all.

In short: Your chart is read for whether any planet is genuinely weak-and-helpful — which is the condition a stone is meant to address — and for what a remedy would actually be aimed at. Where nothing applies, I tell you that rather than finding you something to buy.

The work

What this covers

Diagnosis before prescription

The question is not “which stone suits my sign”. It is which planet in your chart is both weak and working in your favour. Those are different questions and only the second one has a defensible answer.

What the remedy is for, stated plainly

You should leave knowing which planet, which house, and what change the remedy is meant to support. A remedy you cannot explain the purpose of is a remedy you will abandon in three weeks.

How long, and how to judge it

A stated duration, given at the start rather than extended indefinitely. Forty days is the traditional minimum for a fair trial, and the reasoning behind it is worth understanding.

When the answer is none

Frequently the honest recommendation is no remedy — because the placement does not warrant one, or because the problem is practical and needs a practical answer.

What to bring

  • Date, exact time and place of birth
  • Any stone you already wear, and who recommended it
  • Any remedy you are currently doing, and for how long
  • What you were hoping the remedy would change

What you get

  • Whether a stone or remedy applies to your chart at all
  • If so: which, for which planet, and what it is aimed at
  • A stated duration and how to judge whether to continue
  • A written summary so the instructions do not drift

Said plainly

What this cannot do

A correctly chosen remedy supports something the chart already shows. It does not guarantee an outcome, it does not override circumstance, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, a lawyer or an accountant. If a stone is being sold to you on the strength of how worried you are, the worry was the product. I would rather tell you nothing applies than sell you something that does not.

Before you ask

Common questions

Which gemstone should I wear?

That cannot be answered from your sign, and it should not be answered without your chart. The stone is chosen for a planet that is weak and helpful in your specific chart — which for a good many people turns out to be no stone at all.

I have been wearing a stone for years with no change.

That is worth examining rather than escalating. In my experience the common causes are a remedy aimed at the wrong planet, a remedy for a problem that was never astrological, an unclear purpose, or a duration too short to judge. Adding a second stone rarely fixes any of those.

Do you sell stones?

No. I tell you what applies; sourcing it is yours. That separation matters, because a practitioner who both diagnoses and sells has an obvious reason to find something wrong.
