Is the finding actually there

In short: I take what you were told, check it against a correctly cast chart, and tell you whether it stands. That is the whole of it. It is deliberately narrow, it is meant to end, and a clean bill is one of its ordinary outcomes.
The work

The step most often skipped. The tradition is full of conditions under which a dosha does not apply, and they are supposed to be applied before the word is said out loud.
Where something was recommended, what was it for, and would it be aimed at the placement in question. A remedy without a stated purpose cannot be evaluated by anyone, including the person doing it.
If a real difficulty brought you to that first consultation, the chart usually has something specific to say about it. Naming that is more useful than confirming or denying a label.
Said plainly
I can tell you what is in your chart, whether a named configuration is present, and whether the classical conditions that cancel it apply. I cannot prove a negative, and I will not pretend to. Nor will I tell you that another practitioner acted in bad faith — I do not know that, and it is not my finding to make. What I will say plainly is what the chart shows, and that nobody should be frightened into an expensive remedy by a label alone.
Before you ask
Not particularly. I comment on the chart, not on the person. If the finding stands I will say so, and I have said so — a second opinion that always disagrees with the first is worth exactly as little as one that always agrees.
That is the most common case now. Software usually calculates correctly and then applies rules one at a time without weighing them, and it very rarely applies the cancellations. That single step resolves a large share of the alarming labels these tools produce.
I will tell you what the chart shows and what the recommended remedy would be aimed at. If it is aimed at nothing, you will be able to tell. What you do about the money is your decision, and I have no interest in the outcome either way.
It is a short piece of work, and it is meant to be. This is not the beginning of an ongoing relationship — it is a specific question, answered, ended.
